TOWARDS BUILDING A ROBUST, COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE PLATFORM

about

conflu3nce is a Jerusalem-based health and technology start-up. Established in 2016, our R&D efforts are focused on developing an innovative set of user-centric solutions and products which support peace-of-mind, health and well-being, online and offline. Conflu3nce’s IP portfolio includes a family of patent/patent-pending inventions with applications in the fields of cognitive health, cybersecurity, and machine vision (image processing and analyses).

Engaging Cognition Naturally

We are all unique in how we think, in what we remember, in our experiences.

conflu3nce is leveraging our uniqueness and our similarities to build a Gestalt-based, multi-modal cognitive platform designed to support a wide range of cognitive applications across multiple markets and business sectors.

From supporting cognitive health for the millions of people affected by cognitive health issues to supporting the development of image and cognitively-based human identification and authorization systems, the PICSS Interactive system is designed to leverage human factors and its role in understanding how we see the world, and by extension how technology can "see" the world.

PICSS - fostering discovery at the nexus

R&D Initiatives

Engaging Cognition Naturally

PICSS Interactives is a Gestalt-based system, built from the ground-up. Using enriched real-world content, PICSSi reflects today's volume information processing requirements, offering people across the cognitive spectrum with a minimally-disruptive, multi-domain, multi-modal solution to support cognitive fitness for people across the cognitive spectrum.

Image & Scene Analyses

PICSS-Stitch is a Gestalt-based approach which introduces reversible content ambiguities, generating adversarial image content to advance image understanding. Image content can be rapidly scanned, while refining figure-ground relationships dynamics and hierarchies.

Human Factors

PICSS-id is an image-based, cognitive approach designed for secure identity and authentication management without requiring users to remember multiple, complex alphanumeric-based passwords.

She holds a B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Public Health.

Dr. Lynn White joins conflu3nce as Chief Medical Officer

Dr. White, a board-certified anesthesiologist and former pediatric emergency medicine physician, will serve as the company's Chief Medical Officer. Her primary responsibilities will be to oversee conflu3nce's R&D initiatives, including the development of an easy-to-use Pre/Post-Operative Cognitive Screening Tool to identify and mitigate risk of cognitive dysfunction following anesthesia administration in high-risk and vulnerable populations. Dr. White, together with Dr. Stanley Rosen, co-founded Colorado-based, Patient Shield Concepts (PSC), LLC - a patient-centric company committed to ensuring the health and safety of patients and practitioners in hospitals, surgery centers, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facilities. Together they developed PSC's patented SuctionShield suction holster designed specifically to tackle the transmission of increasingly drug-resistant and virulent organisms and the high cost of containment ($40,000 to $80,000/per infection) for the more than 2,000,000 Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) reported annually. She earned her medical degree from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and residency at Rush University Medical Center (Chicago, Illinois)

Preliminary case study data on using enriched visual stimuli to manage ADHD symptoms in teens

Preliminary findings support key hypothesis on use of enriched visual stimuli to manage ADHD symptoms for both stimulant medicated and unmedicated teen boys. Results are consistent with recent findings from other research, but as a view-only system PICSSi offers the unique advantange of being minimally disruptive to workflow. To participate in evaluation or more information, please inquire

Intellectual Property Portfolio

15/864,855 System and Method for Generating Composite Images Priority date: 01/31/2018. Inventor: Tami Robyn Ellison. Assigned to conflu3nce

The patent relates to the field of composite images and the digital process of combining and assembling multiple images to produce a final image. Composite images create figure-ground relationships with properties which can be manipulated. Defining and refining figure-ground relationships in images and between images is a core operation in identifying image content and relationships for machine learning, deep learning and other AI applications where image and scene analyses is used.

16/427,305 System and Method for Creating an Image and/or Automatically Interpreting Images Priority date: 2/5/2018. Inventor: Tami Robyn Ellison. Assigned to conflu3nce.

The patent relates to the field of image processing and a method for identifying contiguities in images and composite image sets. Contiguities describe various qualities of an image which may be used for identifying objects and/or relationships within an image and between images. The invention describes a system and method which can be used to predict figure-ground relationships when images are combined with other images to generate a composite image set, including a novel method to facilitate a rapid analysis of changes across the width and height of an image.

16/262,884 Multi-Purpose Interactive Cognitive Platform Priority Date: 08/23/2018. Inventor: Tami Ellison. Assigned to conflu3nce.

The patent relates to the field of human cognition and the use of enriched stimuli to engage skills and processes across multiple cognitive domains. The versatile platform is designed as a multi-modal and multi-domain cognitive assessment and treatment tool, with both device-based and offline components, and offers view-only, hands-on and hands-free modalities, making it suitable for use across a range of user capabilities and environments to support brain health and well-being. Applications include: cognitive safety monitoring during drug development; cognitive status change tracking; and, performance skills enhancement. Prototypes for both device-based and offline interactivities have been developed.

62/777,283 System and Method for User Recognition Based on Cognitive Interactions Priority Date: 12/10/2018. Co-Inventors: Tami Ellison and Shelja Guberman. Assigned to conflu3nce.

The invention relates to the field of user identification and authentication. The system and methods integrate human cognitive capacity and the centrality of the user's role in managing identity security. The user and the system operate together, cooperatively to develop image-linked alphanumeric passwords based on image metadata, and in authenticating human user identity through cognitively-based interactions. The system leverages the picture superiority effect in humans as users pre-register an image set together with image-related security questions. Unlike typical knowledge factors, image-linked factors cannot easily be gamed from social media content and other public domain user information. The method does not require that the user remember, or even know, the generated password.
